Top Stargazing Locations in the UK You’ll Love

There’s something magical about a clear night sky. Often the view is obstructed by lights, pollution and buildings. But the UK is home to some incredible stargazing spots. And what’s the best way to get out into the countryside whilst enjoying some home comforts? A motorhome, of course. View our fleet today.

Yorkshire Dales National Park

Just over an hour from our depot, the Yorkshire Dales National Park is part of the International Dark Sky Program. The Dales offer great walking trails in the day, as well as popular villages such as Grassington and Hebden where you can enjoy cute cafes and homely pubs.

Snowdonia

Known for hikers favourite Mount Snowdon, Snowdonia is a fantastic place to visit. Whether you take a trail for sunset at the peak with stargazing afterwards, or take in the views with your feet up with a mug of cocoa, you’ll be stunned by the views in the night sky.

Northumberland National Park

The Northumberland coastline is stunning by day – but by night, it takes on a whole new beauty. Listen to the waves crashing as you take in the starry skies. Villages within the national park are lovely for exploring, too. It’s a fantastic location for stargazing in the UK.

Bodmin Moor, Cornwall

A bit further afield is Cornwall, where Bodmin Moor has been awarded Dark Sky Landscape status. Bodmin Moor has been recognised for its efforts to reduce light pollution.

OM Dark Sky Park, County Tyrone

If you fancy getting a ferry, OM Dark Sky park offers incredible stargazing PLUS it boasts an observatory. EU insurance is available to book with your motorhome hire.
